It is a complete emergency preparedness kit designed to support one person for up to 72 hours during evacuations, power outages, severe weather events and other emergencies.
Carefully selected equipment, food, water and first aid supplies provide a practical and reliable solution when it matters most.
A well-designed emergency kit is more than a collection of products. It’s a carefully balanced system where every item has a purpose and works together to support you during an emergency.
Every Bugout.eu kit is the result of extensive research, practical testing and collaboration between specialists from different fields. Weight, durability, usability and compatibility are all evaluated to ensure the backpack works as a practical solution rather than just a collection of gear.
When an emergency happens, there is rarely time to prepare. A pre-packed evacuation kit ensures you have the essential supplies needed to leave safely and remain self-sufficient for up to 72 hours.
Instead of gathering equipment during a stressful situation, everything you need is already organised, packed and ready to go in seconds.

Learn more about your 72h Premium Backpack — from its carefully selected equipment and thoughtful organisation to personalisation, long-term storage and everyday use. Discover practical tips to help you make the most of your kit and stay prepared for the unexpected.
The 72h Premium Backpack provides a carefully selected foundation of essential emergency equipment, covering food, water-related supplies, first aid, communication, lighting, shelter and other critical needs. However, no standardised kit can account for every individual’s personal requirements.
We strongly recommend personalising your backpack before storing it for emergencies:
Clothing and footwear: Pack a complete change of weather-appropriate clothing, including underwear, socks, warm layers and a pair of comfortable, sturdy shoes. Choose compact, versatile items suitable for the season.
Personal medication: Include essential prescription medicines and any regularly needed medical supplies. Keep them in their original packaging where practical, and check their expiry dates and storage requirements.
Vision essentials: Add spare prescription glasses or contact lenses and the necessary accessories, if applicable.
Documents and cash: Keep copies of important identification documents, emergency contact details and a reasonable amount of cash in small denominations. Remember to take your original identification documents when evacuating, if safely accessible.
Pet supplies: If you have pets, include a suitable reserve of food, a leash and any essential medication or other items they depend on.
Drinking water: Fill the included 1-litre water bottle and consider additional water according to your needs and the weight you can safely carry.
The goal is simple: in an emergency, your backpack should be the only item you need to grab before leaving.
Imagine waking up at 3 a.m. to a fire in your home. You may have only seconds to get out, with no time to get dressed or search for belongings. Your emergency backpack should already contain the personal essentials you would otherwise have to leave behind.
Review the contents periodically as seasons, health needs and personal circumstances change.
Yes. The 72h Premium Backpack comes fully equipped and organised, so you can take it with you immediately when an emergency occurs.
However, we strongly recommend taking some time to familiarise yourself with the contents beforehand. Knowing what you have and where to find it can save valuable time when every second counts.
To make this easier, each compartment is labelled with intuitive pictogram tags showing the categories of equipment stored inside. This helps you locate essential supplies quickly, even in stressful situations.
You don’t need to be an expert to benefit from having the right equipment available. For example, even if you lack the knowledge to use every item in the first aid kit, someone nearby may have the necessary skills but lack the supplies. Having the equipment at hand can make a real difference.
We encourage you to explore your backpack, understand the basic purpose of its contents and learn essential skills such as first aid before an emergency happens.
The kit includes two individually sealed 100 ml pouches of purified drinking water. These provide an easily accessible, portion-controlled emergency reserve that can be shared without opening your personal water bottle. If necessary, the water may also be used for initial eye rinsing when no better option is immediately available.
The included 1-litre water bottle should be filled before an emergency as a minimum starting supply. For continued access to drinking water, the kit also contains purification tablets sufficient to treat 10 litres of suitable water and electrolyte powder to help replace minerals lost through sweating.
A full three-day water supply is not included, so additional water should be planned through storage, safe water sources or resupply. In the event of chemical exposure to the eyes, immediate and prolonged rinsing with plenty of clean water is essential; the small emergency pouches are not a substitute for proper eye irrigation or medical attention.
The 72h Premium Backpack is designed for long-term emergency readiness with minimal maintenance. We carefully select components that offer extended shelf lives and require little attention while stored.
The emergency food has a shelf life of up to 20 years, while the packaged drinking water can be stored for up to 10 years. These periods are calculated from the manufacturing date, so the remaining shelf life may be slightly shorter when you receive your backpack. We regularly replenish our inventory to ensure the supplies we provide are as fresh as possible.
To further simplify long-term storage, the batteries in the radio and headlamp are isolated with protective pull tabs. This prevents electrical contact during storage — simply remove the tabs before using the devices for the first time.
Although the backpack is designed to remain ready with minimal attention, we recommend occasionally checking the expiry dates, storage conditions and overall condition of the equipment, particularly any personal items you have added.
Our goal is simple: prepare your backpack once and keep it ready for years, without the need for constant maintenance.
Absolutely. In fact, we strongly encourage it. Personalising your backpack is not just about adding essential items such as clothing, medication, spare glasses and documents. It is also an opportunity to familiarise yourself with the equipment and organise your personal belongings according to your needs.
Every item in the 72h Premium Backpack has a deliberately assigned location, and this arrangement is consistent across all our kits of the same model. This standardised layout makes equipment easier to locate and helps users familiar with one backpack navigate another.
While you are welcome to organise your personal additions as you prefer, we strongly recommend preserving the original arrangement of the supplied equipment. For example, the first aid kit is securely attached near the top of the main compartment for immediate access. Similarly, the headlamp has a dedicated pocket at the top of the backpack, with a brightly marked zipper pull to make it easier to identify in low-light conditions.
The backpack also features a dedicated Velcro patch area for a name or identification patch. This helps distinguish your backpack from those of family members or colleagues — especially important when each contains different personal clothing, medication and other individual essentials.
Make it yours, but keep the essentials where they belong.
Your emergency backpack should be stored in a logical, easily accessible location — ideally somewhere along your natural evacuation route, so you can grab it on your way out without losing valuable time.
However, your backpack doesn’t have to stay at home waiting for an emergency. Consider taking it along on longer car journeys, hiking trips or other outdoor activities. Emergencies don’t necessarily happen when you’re at home, and having essential equipment nearby can be just as valuable when you’re travelling.
The 72h Premium Backpack is designed to be both practical and comfortable to carry, so there’s no reason to reserve it exclusively for emergencies. Using it occasionally in everyday situations helps you become more familiar with its contents, organisation and functionality. You may even find some of the equipment useful for ordinary day-to-day needs.
Just remember to return any items you use, replenish consumables and keep the backpack ready for its primary purpose.
The best emergency backpack is one you can reach when you need it — and one you already know how to use.
